Ewaka Sports Center
Unifying communities, nurturing talent, and building leadership through the power of sports.
More Than Just a Game: Sports for Development
At Ewaka Foundation, we use sports as a powerful unifying tool to inspire youth, foster talent, and promote social cohesion. Our sports center provides a safe, energetic space where young people build physical resilience, mental discipline, and lifelong friendships.
By combining structured athletic training with mentorship, we teach core life values like teamwork, respect, and fair play, protecting vulnerable youth from risky behaviors and giving them a positive purpose.
Our Core Impact Areas
Leadership & Discipline
Teaching teamwork, focus, and self-discipline on the pitch while identifying and nurturing gifted athletes to compete at higher regional levels.
Community Cohesion
Bringing entire communities together across social divides by hosting regular events, friendly matches, and youth tournaments.
Physical/Mental Wellbeing
Creating a safe, safe haven for all community youth and children to interact, play, heal, and express themselves through physical exercise.
Multi-Sport Facilities
Completed at our Jinja foundation site, the Ewaka Sports Center features dedicated grounds including a full football pitch, basketball court, and volleyball setup. It serves as a central hub for daily recreation, structured sports coaching, and community youth programs.
Annual Community Tournaments
Every year, we host our signature Annual Ewaka Christmas Netball and Football Tournaments. These high-energy events draw teams and spectators from villages across Jinja, fostering unity, celebration, and friendly competition.

Structural Sports & Education Initiative
In Partnership with Light Primary School
To turn sport into a long-term pathway out of poverty, Ewaka Foundation has teamed up with Light Primary School in Jinja (Kyabirwa, Ivunamba). Our initiative combines athletic training with school attendance and academic mentorship, ensuring that physical activity directly supports classroom performance.
Education in Motion
80% Attendance Rule: Learners must maintain at least 80% school attendance to participate in weekend clinics and tournaments, directly boosting classroom presence.
DOCXSaturday Study Hour: Every Saturday morning starts with a 45-minute structured study and homework session in a quiet, supported learning environment.
Academic Tracking: We track participants‘ end-of-term results alongside their athletic progress to identify where academic support is needed.
Inclusive Participation: Adaptive activities and inclusive formats are integrated across all disciplines to ensure children living with disabilities fully participate.
