At Ewaka Foundation, we believe that healthy, supported mothers are the cornerstone of thriving families and strong communities. Launched to bridge critical healthcare gaps in Jinja, our Maternal Health Program accompanies vulnerable expectant women through pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood.
In July 2026, our team celebrated a wonderful addition to the Ewaka family: Kawuda Mariam, one of the expectant mothers enrolled in our healthcare framework, safely delivered a healthy baby girl!
Following the delivery, our team member Grace conducted a post-natal home visit to congratulate Mariam, evaluate the baby’s wellbeing, and deliver essential newborn care supplies. Beyond physical aid, home visits provide mothers with crucial emotional encouragement, guidance on breastfeeding, and a safe space to navigate the initial challenges of parenthood.
Walking alongside mothers like Mariam ensures that infant mortality risks are minimized and newborns receive a warm, secure start in life. We wish Mariam and her baby girl health, happiness, and peace as they begin this new journey together!
